From time to time, I have found it of great value to share and embrace other start-ups and ingenius business ideas. With that being said, I have come across a fabulous team from Australia that is making waves on their side of the world with a new business venture that I am sure will be successful. We have offered to trade blogs with the hopes of reaching untapped markets and otherwise hard to reach audiences. Please take a few moments to read about BizCover.com and their great business model. Ike Ike Baby
Ok so I know that’s a shoddy title to a new post, but so is the media hype of this oncoming hurricane. I do not take storms lightly, but that’s been the only local media coverage for the last 100+ hours. Apparently the rest of the world doesn’t exist anymore. Sorry everyone. Houston now is the capital of the world. Let’s be honest, it was going to happen sooner or later!
We have the usual tactics done on our house. Put away anything that can be thrown around, tied up large items, batteries, flashlights, enough water to fill a pool, plenty of snacks/food, and enough cigars to send smoke signals to Colorado. (more…)

Slot machines are out to get me…
Being in finance and having a large background of numbers and figures, I’ve never really been an odds man. I always would say, “odds are I don’t care.” Even still, I do enjoy casinos as much as the next guy. Who doesn’t like the thought of winning huge and never having to work again? With that being said, I really suck at slot machines. I mean, it’s like they see me coming and start laughing. All those little bells and dings you hear when you walk in start to simultaneously play ‘Loser’ by Beck when I hit the parking lot. I know what you’re thinking, “how can someone suck at pulling a lever?” The answer is I don’t know, but it’s true. (more…)

A few hours remaining
I have about 15 hours until we go into the hospital and start the next phase of our lives. Tomorrow our 2nd child and first girl will be born. I’ve been anxious, nervous, happy, sad, etc. Everything I assume most new parents go through, and most of which I went through in some degree when we had our son. Lindsee, a.k.a SuperMom had been really great, especially dealing with almost simultaneous birthdays for myself and our new baby girl. With birthdays a day apart, I’m sure she’ll feel the stress in years to come. I’ve always expressed that I don’t really enjoy celebrating my birthday because of the guilt I feel for people going through so much trouble for me. I’ll be sure to send/blog details on the upcoming arrival with plenty of pictures and videos.
